Partnering with Newton County High Schools to Engage Students in Financial Literacy

For the fifth consecutive year in a row, Newton Federal Bank is sponsoring online courses to supply every high school senior in the Newton County School System (NCSS) with engaging learning modules so that they may better understand concepts in personal finance.

In the 2016-2017 school year alone, we successfully impacted 1,138 students by equipping them with decision-making capabilities as it relates to financing higher education, choosing a home, using credit, and other financial responsibilities that they may encounter. 61% of the students impacted come from low-to-moderate income households where this information might not be freely accessible.

As part of our mission in giving back by making a difference in the lives of our community members we serve, we offer free courses to anyone who feels that they need them in the “Education” tab of our website.
